Absolute Seegers
Memes of the Day
Inspired by the Clallam County Watchdog articles: “MAGA in a Patagonia Jacket?” Reddit, Jake Seegers, and the Politics of Labels; and Censorship, Smears, and Socialist Gardening Clubs.
If supporting Jake Seegers is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
What’s wrong is the nonsense that Jake or CC Watchdog are in any way MAGA. It’s completely inaccurate, which makes it totally hilarious.
It is understandable though. Even democrats who aren’t far-left extremists are to the right of the extremists.
So, anyone who is operating from common sense can easily be seen as MAGA by people who have no common sense.
Granted, they have a common brain, but not common sense.
And while CC Watchdog may not align with Indivisible’s values, I seriously question if they have any values at all.
However, if Indivisible or other far-leftists have values, what are they?
Is a profane and juvenile hand gesture from someone who looks old enough to know better a value?
Is violent rhetoric that promotes assassinating a sitting president another one of their values?
Freedom is as freedom does.
Waving signs is their right and they are free to do it; especially signs that have nothing to do with the activities in the building behind them, where policies are created that have more direct impact on their daily lives than anything that happens in Washington DC.
Meanwhile, others in the community are exercising their freedoms by cleaning up Port Angeles and volunteering with 4PA.
Try as Indivisible and far leftists might, I don’t think the people who are doing good in Clallam County are going to be stopped by name-calling.
Perhaps cleaning up Port Angeles and Clallam County just isn’t a value of Indivisible, and that’s okay. Cleanliness isn’t for everyone.
Transparency isn’t for everyone either.
Admittedly, some things aren’t for me — like what’s happening at the library.
What is for me, though, is the Jake Seegers movement. It’s not just because he’s Jake; it’s because of what he stands for and what he is already doing without even being in public office yet.
He volunteers, he goes to meetings, he listens to meetings, he talks with people, he interviews people, he writes articles, he gets information out to the people, he helps people, he listens to people, he redresses government, and he works at solutions.
Everything that Jake does isn’t for his benefit alone; it’s for the greater good of Clallam County. I don’t see Jake winning the election as just a win for him. It would be a win for all of Clallam County, and that’s the winning that matters, no matter what side wins.
The people who are in favor of Jake Seegers are just that — in favor of him. They believe in what Jake is doing; they believe in his message and they share it with others.
While people who are in favor of Jake may not be in favor of Mike French, they aren’t slapping up anti-French stickers in Port Angeles. Being in favor is a stronger position than being against, and ‘bad’ publicity is still free publicity.
The real shame in all of this is that no one has created a Reddit thread for Mike French, neither for nor against him, based on a Reddit search I did.
It seems that people are so busy sharing their opinions about Jake on Reddit that no one has created any threads to promote Mike French. Not one thread about his policies, about him as a person, or about the great things he has done for the county.
That’s not a statement on him as much as it’s a statement on the people who support him. It’s also a statement on the people who don’t support him, because they didn’t create a thread just to spew their opinions about him. It’s a fascinating statement all around, and also pretty funny too.
Whether it’s good or bad, it’s just the fact of it; and it makes me question if people truly are in favor of Mike French and if they are only against Jake Seegers.
But maybe that will change, and I hope it does. Mike French deserves to have people support him and be in favor of him, and not just against the opposition.
Lastly, I can understand why Indivisible wouldn’t want CC Watchdog articles shared in their private group.
After all, what’s the point of a private group if it has to be invaded with reminders that someone is pulling public records, redressing government, demanding transparency, and getting more daily podcast downloads than Indivisible members who don’t do any of those things.
And while my blog apparently isn’t viewed as out of alignment with Indivisible values, I’m okay with that. Not because we actually share values, but because Indivisible didn’t specifically discourage members from posting Clallamity Jen or Strait Shooter articles. I hope they like memes and satire. 😁

A wise man once told me, never fall in love with a politician, but it is OK to fall in love with what they do. I don’t know Jake, but I do know that his actions speak volumes about what he would do for the county if elected. I don’t know Mike French, but his track records tells me what he will do if re-elected. For me, that choice is clear as the proverbial bell.
Thank you Jen!!
