Memegate 2026
Memes of the Day
Inspired by the Clallam County Watchdog article and companion podcast, Signgate 2026.
I give credit to Mike French for attending the April 16th public safety town hall. Especially because if he hadn’t, I wouldn’t have meme material.
With his new campaign underway, highlighting the sentiments, “I show up. I listen. I deliver.”, I’m looking forward to a campaign season full of more meme opportunities.
For instance, when it comes to “delivering,” is that what happened at the William Shore Memorial Pool District? After all, Mike French as a board member was responsible for oversight; and since basic financial controls were sorely lacking, allegedly, does that mean he had a hand in delivering fraud by way of not exercising proper fiduciary responsibilities?
Granted, nobody’s perfect, but that doesn’t excuse fraud or a lack of oversight when that is a person’s duty as a board member.
When it comes to the issue of compliance, I appreciate the importance of following rules.
I give credit to Jake Seegers and his campaign for timely addressing a sign compliance issue. Especially because it demonstrated how quickly he responded to it.
It’s unfortunate the Peninsula Daily News can’t address vital news quite as fast as Jake can respond to sign compliance issues.
Because who needs to know about an attack on a transit bus driver within a day of it happening? News about public safety doesn’t need to move that fast out here. It’s better to wait nine days and then bury it in an article about hiring a new general manager.
Again, nobody’s perfect. However, the recent article by the PDN about Jake Seegers’ campaign signs only highlights their reporting priorities and extreme bias.
Finally, some thoughts on a social media comment about Jake Seegers and his supporters:
They’re just loud. Doesn’t mean they’ll win.
Admittedly, I want Jake to win, because it’s more than just a win for him or for his political side.
Someone who will “fight for common sense” and “not defend insanity” is a win for the county, the property owners, the tax payers, and the people.
This election is about more than the sides involved, and more than the political right or left. It’s about the candidates’ platforms, and how they plan to impact the county and the people for the better.
And that is who I want to win — the county and the people.
Based on Mike French’s record, and based on the current state of Clallam County under his governance the past few years, I doubt that the county and the people will be better off if he is re-elected; and that the only thing the people will win will be more taxes, more harm reduction, and more insanity.
It wouldn’t matter to me what letter came after Jake Seegers’ name, because that’s not what I’m looking at. I’m looking at Clallam County and the people, and they both deserve better.
Thank you for laughing, sharing & subscribing!

Good morning CJ,
I'd say your first meme with Mike French sums it up. He sees the hill he must climb and will be unwilling to to do the work. Let's see what the next slime session will be about....His public record says it all. Spend more money because the government can fix anything. He is unwilling to cut Harm reduction and it's horrible record in Clallam County. Why is that? Ties to JST is always their roadblock.
Thanks for the article and have a great day...
If you want no change, Mike French is your boy.
